Odyssey Instructional TV

Founded in 1989, Odyssey Instructional Television is an educational program operated completely by students. It is offered by the San Bernardino County Regional Occupational Program (ROP). Odyssey TV is available to nearly 10 Million viewers in Central and Southern California on Charter Cable and Verizon FiOS. Odyssey TV is also available to the world via our live stream on our website.

Located on the lower campus of Victor Valley Senior High School, students operate a state of the art media center featuring equipment from: Broadcast Pix, Apple, AVID, Macro Systems US, Canon, Sony Pro, Panasonic and many others giving our students the true "hands on" atmosphere of professional television production. This course is designed to teach students all aspects of the broadcasting and TV production field. The current formats used in our studio include: SVHS/VHS, DVC/DVC Pro, 3/4", BetaCam and DVD. Course Emphases is not only on broadcasting but also on studio safety, pre-production, budgets, set design, deadlines, quality and most importantly teamwork.

Odyssey Instructional Television now celebrates 20 years of television and remains an active member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and our students are some of the only High School level attendees to the convention held each year in Las Vegas, NV. Odyssey also is, and remains active as, a Flagship School for the Channel One News Network. Odyssey is also part of the America One Network and broadcasts it's programming throughout our regular day.
